How Google Translate Exposed Russia's Secret Army

It’s crazy that these Russian intelligence operatives got caught because they used Google Translate, and it was done through a court order because Google servers are based in the US. Which implies that whatever we put on Google Translate is being monitored too. Perhaps now that small-sized LLMs are available like Gemma we can just create a custom app that does translation rather than having to reach for an external party.
